CustomCornea^® uses advanced wavefront technology to measure and treat your higher order optical aberrations. Until now there was nothing that could measure or treat these higher order aberrations. Even conventional LASIK, contacts or glasses could not give you quality 20/20 vision if you had higher order aberrations. These higher order aberrations can cause glare, halos, shadows and other visual distortions giving you an unclear 20/20. The goal of CustomCornea^® using LADARWave technology is to give you a better result by improving your quality of vision.

The LADARWave measuring system sends waves of light through your eye and measures the distortions in your vision at hundreds of points across your cornea. The LADARWave then creates a 3D map of your eye, which is digitally imported into the laser creating a truly individualized surgery based on your prescription and optical aberrations.

Combined with the LADARVision 4000 Laser, CustomCornea^® gives you the best quality and quantity of vision possible. The LADARVision’s eye tracker combined with its small flying-spot laser beam is the only system able to give the exact custom pattern that the Wavefront has mapped. For this reason, it is the first and only FDA approved system.
