Our Staff

We boast a staff of 10 skilled professionals to encompass all your eye care needs. Here is a quick introduction to some of our team.

Jeff Harbison
Jeff is our Certified Ophthalmic Technician (C.O.T.). He was the first person to become certified as a C.O.T. in the tri-county area. Jeff is a 1972 graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara. He began his ophthalmic career in our office 22 years ago and has prepared countless patients for surgery.  Jeff performs ophthalmic ultrasonography, ocular photography, contact lens fittings, refractometry, Orbscans and infrared pupil measurements. Jeff is also our office administrator. He feels his most important role is patient education and as he says: "putting medical terms and procedures into words that patients can understand enables them to be well informed and to make better decisions ensuring great outcomes." Jeff lives in Santa Barbara with his wife and three children. Jeff is our LASIK Clinical Director and ensures that the best medical care possible occurs in our office.

Claudia
Claudia has been with Dr. Winthrop for over 10 years. She is one of our LASIK Coordinators and is responsible for telephone counseling, seminars and scheduling LASIK. Claudia has been in the eye care field for 25 years. She and her children live in Santa Barbara. A native Californian, Claudia earned her degree in Fine Arts from Cal State Fullerton. Claudia had LASIK and raves about the procedure, and she will to anyone who asks!
