Do
your contact lenses make your eyes feel dry,
tired or "squinty"?
Do you find that you're switching from
contacts to glasses in the late afternoon
or evening due to eye fatigue?
Do your contacts or glasses interfere with
your enjoyment of athletic activities,
your
hobbies or your professional pursuits?
Are you tired of that endless cycle of
cleaning, rinsing and disinfecting?
Would you like to get rid of that unsightly
dent on the bridge of your nose?
Would you be fumbling around in the dark
for your glasses in case of an emergency such
as an earthquake or fire?
If
you have answered yes to any of these questions
and you are 18 years of age or older, you are
probably a candidate for LASIK. Of course, you
will have a complete eye examination prior to
the procedure to insure that your eyes are free
of cataracts, glaucoma or other eye disease,
and that your vision has remained stable for
the previous 12 months.
LASIK cannot correct the condition known as presbyopia, or aging of the
eye, that normally occurs around age 40 and may require the use of reading
glasses. In fact, people over 40 who have their nearsightedness reduced
with LASIK may find they need reading glasses after the procedure.
